TMS Purpose, Patients, and Process
How It Works
TMS is a non-invasive, non-medication treatment option that utilizes gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted areas of the brain. This can activate and reset specific areas of the brain that regulate mood, breaking the cycle of depression and other conditions. This also allows for greater “neuroplasticity”, the brain’s ability to restore itself to normal or higher function.

Who It's For
TMS is currently FDA approved to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and has shown to be effective in studies investigating anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), neuropathic pain, tinnitus, and other conditions. We offer a free consultation and evaluation to see if TMS is right for you.
The Process
After an initial intake with our clinical director to determine if TMS is right for you, you will have a brain mapping session with our licensed Psychiatrist to determine course of treatment. Sessions last from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the protocol. Treatment sessions generally are scheduled 5 days a week, for 5 to 7 weeks. During treatment, patients remain alert and may relax, watch TV, chat, or engage in gentle, stationary activities of their choice.
